Do you have a certain book that you find yourself re-reading on a regular basis? If so, what book is it?

I have a few; The Second Wives Club by Jane Moore, The Silver Kiss and Blood and Chocolate, both by Annette Curtis Klause and Nickel and Dimed: On Not Getting By in America by Barbara Ehrenreich. I wanted to re-read Lord of the Rings every year, but right now I just don't have the time.

Soon, I think In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, 'Salem's Lot by Stephen King and The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule will be added to this list.

If you could eat dinner with any person, dead or alive, who would it be and where would you go?

I'd have shepherd's pie with J.R.R. Tolkien and pump him for information about Lord of the Rings.

And if not him, then I'd have a crazy drunken evening with Muse and get into shenanigans with Matt and Dom, while Chris stood somberly in the background, drinking his beer and wondering how he even met these two idiots.

Hmm, well, it seems my promise to once again not neglect this has been broken. Life gets in the way, okay? I can't just jump through hoops for people and post all the time. Even my LJ and my food blog have been suffering thanks to the schedule I'm on.

My weekdays are thus:
-7:15 AM: Wake up, get dressed, grab something quick for breakfast
-8:15 AM: In Starbucks in Greenbelt for my additional, or second, breakfast of a tall hot chocolate and a blueberry scone/Mallorca sweet bread/plain bagel with cream cheese, while I read a large book to wile away the minutes
-9:15 AM: Clock into work
-9:30-9:55 AM: Unload the stock truck
-10:30/10:45-11:45 AM: Put out stock onto sales floor
-11:50-12:30/1:30 PM: Unload boxes
-1:30-1:45/1:45-2 PM: 15 minute break
-1:45/2PM: Back to work hanging clothes
-2:45: Put out clothes onto sales floor
-3 PM: So long, suckers!

I don't work my second job until Fridays, and that's always 4-9. Some days, I drop Mom off at her second job and then go to the gym at my school for an hour {sometimes a little less} and roleplay/watch movies. I also do this on days when she's not at her second job.

Weekends are strictly me time, where I can sleep in and stay in my pajamas all day.

I am thankful for the 3 day weekend I have this time around. Thanks to Memorial Day on Monday, we get no stock truck, so the stock associates don't have to come in. Bliss!

In Other News:
*I have yet another celebrity crush to add to the growing multitude of them. Michael Sheen is a god among men, and I try as hard as I can to block out that he was in the Underworld films {though I loved the 1st one for awhile} and the new Twilight movies {JUST...NO}, despite the fact he looks fine as fuck as a werewolf.

Awww yeah.

Normally, he's a talented actor in films such as 'The Music Within' {he plays a man with cerebral palsy}, 'The Queen', 'Frost/Nixon', 'The Damned United' and has guest starred as one of my favorite TV characters ever on '30 Rock'. And through it all, he has retained that charming geekiness.

Also, I firmly believe he should be the person playing Bilbo Baggins in 'The Hobbit'. Who can I talk to to make this happen?

*I'm currently trying to save up for a trip to Florida in October for the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. It'll be my 3rd time going to Disney World, and I predict this one will be even better than the last. Chief among those reasons is because it's much less expensive than the last trip, we're flying this time, and because I can drink if I like {I will be}.
There was talk about a tequila tasting, in between all the wine and food tastings, so that should be interesting.

*Muse's new song 'Neutron Star Collision' is on the 'Eclipse' soundtrack {3rd in the 'Twilight' series}, and even though the song is legit cheesy and sappy, and I get blinded by rage if I have to recall what it's associated with, I love this song.



And speaking of Muse, I'm seeing them for the 5th time in October, after the Florida trip, in Virginia with my very good friend Davey, who is moving here from Kentucky on June 3rd. We plan to meet them after the show, and I hope we are successful in this venture.

General Blogging
Well, it seems like I've missed an entire month of blogging. If you can believe it, though, not a lot has been different from any other months, but here is a quick run down of things that have happened. I have:

-Saw Muse for the 4th time {they get better every time!}
-Applied for a ridiculous amount of jobs.
-Got 3 job interviews {one of which I still have to go to}
-Got new glasses
-Saw some movies; 'Legion', 'Shutter Island', 'The Bourne Supremacy', 'The Bourne Ultimatum', 'Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire', 'State of Play' and 'Rendition'.
-Managed to save quite a lot more money
-Had an acquaintance commit suicide
-Visited my friend in West Virginia

Pretty good, all in all.

Movie You Should Be Excited About:
'Legend of the Guardians'


Aside from the TOTALLY inappropriate trailer music, this movie looks GORGEOUS and I am so excited for it to come out.

Starring: Hugo Weaving, Emilie de Ravin, Helen Mirren, David Wenham, Geoffrey Rush, Sam Neill, Jim Sturgess, Abbie Cornish and Ryan Kwanten.

Movie News:
'The Hobbit: Part 1' has two more actors in it, according to rumors; David Tennant is playing Bilbo Baggins, and Ron Perlman is playing Thorin Oakenshield. I personally wish that Simon Pegg was slated to play Bilbo {how awesome would that be?!}, but I love David Tennant, and I am definitely still seeing the film. Ron Perlman as Thorin is a pretty interesting casting choice, but I like him as well.

-David Schwimmer is engaged. I never thought I'd care that much about him to post something about it on here {or any of my blogs}, but there it is.

Most Recent Movie(s)/TV Show(s) I've Seen At Home:
'Gran Torino'

Directed and starring Clint Eastwood, this was an absolutely gorgeous movie. Surprisingly hilarious, if only because Clint Eastwood as an older man spewing racial slurs at random points is pretty hysterical. The movie has a good plot, though because a lot of the younger cast hadn't acted before, a lot of the delivery of the lines was kind of awkward. I wish I hadn't waited so long to see this, but I'm glad I finally did.

Grade: A-

Most Recent Book(s) I've Finished:
Blankets by Craig Thompson.

One of the most gorgeous and sad graphic novels I've read, and one of the quickest reads, too. Which you would not expect for a novel over 500 pages. I was able to read it in a little over an hour {while still absorbing it}, and enjoyed it immensely. If you're looking for a good graphic novel, I definitely recommend Blankets

My love for Lady Gaga continues to grow by the day. She's like Madonna and Gwen Stefani rolled into an awesome package of...well, fabulousness and fierceness. And I don't even like Madonna.

And can I just say that if Britney Spears had actually used this song {since Gaga wrote it for her}, it would have been fucking wasted. I like about 4 or 5 of Britney's songs, but she is nowhere near the "Princess/Queen of Pop". Especially now. It's safe to say Lady Gaga has far surpassed her, and she's younger than Britney, too!

General Blogging
I just finished my season 1 rewatch of 'Supernatural'. Because of a behind the scenes interview with Jensen and Jared, where Jensen mentioned there was a drinking game where whenever Sam says "Dean", you take a shot or something. After I saw this, I noticed that Sam says his brother's name an awful lot, and so decided to keep track of it throughout the series. And to keep it fair, I decided to see how many times Dean says "Sam" throughout the show as well.

Final count for season 1:
-Number of times Sam says "Dean": 138
-Number of times Dean says "Sam": 130

Seems like a lot, doesn't it? I may have missed one or two, but on the whole, this is pretty accurate.

Next time I rewatch the show, I need to keep track of Dean's Blue Steel model faces.

-Orlando Bloom has said he would be willing to reprise his role as Legolas in 'The Hobbit'. The thing about that, is that Legolas was not in The Hobbit. I could see him as Thranduil, Legolas's father, though it would be weird seeing him as the mirror image of his son, and I think too many people would be confused about it.

'Last of the Mohicans'

Directed by Michael Mann, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Madeleine Stowe, Wes Studi and Russell Means, based on the book by James Fenimore Cooper. I tried to read the book a few weeks ago, but got side-tracked, and so figured this would be the next best thing. I think I was wrong. It's not a bad movie, and for one that has an "epic" scale to it, it was unexpectedly short {or at least felt like it was}. But, I feel a lot of it could've been better as a whole.

Grade: C

Movie You Should Be Excited About:
'Legion'


From IMDB.com: "After a terrifying biblical apocalypse descends upon the world, a group of strangers stranded in a remote truck stop diner in the Southwest unwittingly become humanity's last line of defense when they discover the diner's young waitress is pregnant with the messiah."

Okay, so admittedly, in the harsh light of day, this looks less than stellar, but it will probably be a pretty kick ass action movie. And I love anything with supernatural elements in it, and it's got Lucas Black, Paul Bettany and Doug Jones in it, so that will be nice at least :)

Actor News:
Patrick Wilson is joining the cast of 'The A-Team', playing a CIA operative in the film, which also stars Bradley Cooper as Faceman Peck, Sharlto Copely as Howlin' Mad Murodock, Liam Neeson as Hannibal and Quinton Jackson as B.A.. I've never actually seen an episode of 'The A-Team', since it started in 1983, and went off the air the year I was born {1987}, but there's a lot of good actors in it, and so I will probably be seeing the movie.

Most Recent Movie I've Seen in Theatres:

Produced by Peter Jackson and directed by Neill Blomkamp, which is based on his short film 'Alive in Joburg'. Sharlto Copely, in his first film role ever, stars as Wikus Van De Merwe, an MNU operative {Multi-National United} who is called on to help with the eviction of millions of aliens, nicknamed Prawns from District 9, a slum shantytown on the outskirts of Johannesburg, South Africa. Wikus is exposed to something, which has devastating consequences.

This is one of the best alien/sci-fi movies I've seen in a very long time. Sharlto blew me away with his acting. I could not believe this was his first film role ever. He had a small role in 'Alive in Joburg' as a sniper, but that was it. He apparently "stumbled" into the lead role in this. It has some of the best special effects I've ever seen, but when it's handled by Weta Workshop, those responsible for 'Lord of the Rings', 'The Frighteners' and 'King Kong', why are we surprised?

The ending is simply amazing as well. I obviously won't spoil what happens, but it made me cry. Also, another emotion I felt during the movie was disgust. Anything that has fingernails falling off of a person and their teeth coming out just squicks the hell out of me, no matter what it is. But especially when it's torture.

Grade: A
